This part appears to be an exact replacement to the original. I can't see that some manufacturer would tool up just to make a few hundred or thousand of this item, so it probably is an "original manufacturer" part. Installation wasn't particularly difficult, but I had to use a Dremel cutting disk to remove the top 1" of the plastic composition panel in that area. Its hard to describe, but you'll understand when you get there. Google "Avalanche door latch" and go to some of the forums for several descriptions of how to replace the part.
I'm pleased with the part but shame on GM for another bad design. Just one more reason why there won't be another GM product in my driveway.

Why Chevy puts a plastic handle here, I can't tell you, but I know that when it's cold outside, they can break easily. Then the dealership wants around $130 for a replacement. These people got me one for $12.95, a dramatic difference. It was the same quality as the original, probably made in the same plant. I'll be looking them up next time I need parts. Thanks a lot, guys!!!
